Principal's Desk

A celebration of St. Theresa’s Girls’ Secondary School is a celebration of education, a celebration of the future of our Nigerian youths. I congratulate all those who have been a part of this School from its inception to this point of its development. I am filled with great joy and thanks giving to God at the realization of the Silver Jubilee of the School; St. Theresa’s Girls’ Secondary School Olokoro.

A celebration of St. Theresa’s Girls’ Secondary School is a celebration of education, a celebration of the future of our Nigeria youths. Education is a venture whose merits terminate only at death. This is because a wholesome education involves intellectual, moral, social, Spiritual and physical instruction. It therefore covers the totality of human existence. It hopes to reduce the latent potentials inherent in every human person so that every individual possesses the ability to develop the society in her particular way. Therefore, what education seeks is the full development of the human person. It is for this reason that this classic statement “knowledge is power”, remains ever relevant. It is this drive towards developing youths for the future that has led our congregation to found this great school.

Innovations are usually consolidated by challenges and the establishment of St. Theresa’s Girls’ Secondary School was no exception. The beginnings of the school were not without its trials. However, thanks to the unrelenting efforts of the pioneer Principals; Rev. Sr. M. Prisca Colette Ezenwa, Rev. Sr. M Nathalia Amadi and their indefatigable management term, members of staff, PTA and students who worked together as one, these challenges easily became the success we celebrate today. What we have today is the gradual accumulation of the results of experiences garnered from periodic challenges which the school has surpassed over the years.

I am especially happy today because the toils of past years have not gone unrewarded. The enviable performances of the pioneer students in the Junior and Senior School Certificate Examination quickly became standards which successive students have continually surpassed through hard work. It is needless to say that St. Theresa’s Girls’ Secondary School Olokoro can boast of academic excellence which many only dream of. It is for this reason that the School is celebrated by all who have come in contact with it. To God be the glory!!!
