Our History

St. Theresa’s Girls’ Secondary School Olokoro emerged in the year 1993, with the sole purpose of providing moral and qualitative education for young girls who no doubt will be the Nation’s leaders of tomorrow. As the school’s motto; “Knowledge, Hard work and Little Way” indicates, the students are provided with the much needed all round quality education and are taught how to achieve success by doing little things in an extra ordinary way.

As one of the unique Catholic institutions established by the congregation of Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy (DMMM) in the diocese of Umuahia, the School has helped in the promotion and facilitation of integral formation of young Nigerian girls thereby producing intellectually self-reliant, morally upright, Socio-Culturally balanced, physically elegant and spiritually sound young ladies who are deeply rooted in God.

The School is staffed with highly qualified and committed teachers in the different disciplines. As a result, the School has been maintaining enviable standards since its inception. The School is equipped with both Modern Curricular and extra-curricular facilities. There is regular supply of water and electricity through the School borehole and giant power generating sets when there is power failure. Thus, the management of the School expects every student that passes into this school to strive hard to achieve all round excellence while in the School.
